In A Year on Ladybug Farm, Cici says, “I used to think being rich meant having a new Lexus in the garage every year. Now it means have a shed full of firewood in the winter.” My priorities certainly changed when I gave up city life for the joys of living in a hundred year old barn. I start making plans for winter in August– cleaning the chimneys, polishing up the fireplace tools, and stacking my first cord of wood. By December, I usually have to order another cord or two, and believe me, there is nothing more gratifying than having a full wood shed for Christmas. Well, maybe one thing ... today I noticed the shed is half empty. Can spring be far away?
